Registration Fees: Collect Upfront Payments with Your Subscriptions

New Payment Flexibility for Your Programmes

We're excited to introduce Registration Fees – a new feature that lets you collect upfront payments when participants sign up for subscription services. Whether you call it an admin fee, joining fee, or deposit, you can now add an immediate payment to any subscription-based programme.

How It Works

When creating a subscription service in Abler, you can now set:

  • Registration fee – Collected immediately at sign-up
  • Subscription price – Either recurring or one-time
  • Start date – When the next payment begins
  • Renewal count – How many payment cycles to run

For example, you could charge a £70 registration fee at sign-up, then £25 monthly starting October 1st for 9 months. Or collect a £70 deposit plus one final £100 payment – whatever structure works for your programme.

Why Registration Fees?

Better cash flow – Get funds upfront for initial costs like equipment or venue deposits

Less admin work – No more separate payment processes or manual invoicing

Secured commitments – Upfront payments reduce drop-out rates

Complete flexibility – Structure payments to match your programme needs

Perfect For

  • Seasonal sports requiring kit purchases before the season starts
  • Holiday camps collecting deposits to secure places
  • Membership schemes with joining fees plus ongoing subscriptions
  • Educational courses needing upfront material costs
  • Any programme requiring initial payment before regular fees begin

Quick Setup

Registration Fees are available now to all Abler users at no extra cost. Simply:

  • Go to Service overview → Add → Add Subscription service
  • Fill out the subscription details
  • Click the arrow next to Active on and choose Custom date
  • Enter your Registration fee amount

The feature integrates seamlessly with your existing subscription management – your reports and financial tracking automatically include registration fees without any additional configuration.
